Authentic Ancient Medieval Silver Handfast Fede Clasped Hands Wedding Ring Circa: 13-15th century. The ring was purchased from a coin dealer in Munich, Germany.  It is dated based on its iconographic style and surrounding artefacts. A fede ring is a design of ring in which two hands meet and are clasped in friendship, love or betrothal. The design is ancient going back to Roman times if not before. It became prominent in the medieval period and in more modern times. The name fede is from the Italian phrase mani in fede or hands clasped in faith.
